Customer Reviews

Well made, easy enough to installMade of solid materials. Installation was pretty easy--some finagling necessary to get it to fit my sled in a structurally sound manner. Has held up well (I use it to haul firewood cants--some hefty loads). Would buy it again. 5Perfect tool fortheir ice anchorsPerfect tool fortheir ice anchors. Not to big and clumbersum like clams is. It is heavy metal and built strong to last. Has flats on the insert for the drill to grab better. Thought about making one, but I knew it wouldn't be as good. Glad I bought it! 5Works wellCool device for augering in your portable shanty. Use it at slow speed or you might break the auger. Some people hook these to their ice auger, but I've found it works better to bring an old battery operated drill and use it with that. Much more control.4Works great have to get used to placing the anchor and ...Works great have to get used to placing the anchor and starting off slow in order to not get the wobble when drilling. Made one out of plastic and was good until it froze and broke, this metal one will last a life time or until I drop it down the hole by accident.5Too bad they didn't update the picture here on Amazon and ...Please make note: The pieces shown in the picture here and on the Eskimo website are solid. But the ones you actually get are actually hollowed out...apparently to accommodate the bolts. Interesting that the instruction manual you can download from the Eskimo website for this item also shows they are solid. But the instruction manual you get with these has been updated to show them hollowed out. Too bad they didn't update the picture here on Amazon and on the Eskimo website. While the runners do appear to be good quality otherwise, if you were looking for the longest life span possible by using solid runners, they may not be for you since they will certainly not last as long as if they were solid. If you don't mind the updated version....go for it. 3Saves wear on the sled and tracks like a laser beamThe kit comes with 3 quality runners which fit my Eskimo Evo 2IT 2-man shelter Eskimo Evo 2It 2-Man Crossover Ice Fishing Shelter, Red perfectly. It includes the mounting hardware and requires you to have a drill, bit, socket or wrench and phillips screwdriver to install. I've installed runners on 2 other sleds before this one and found these to be a little easier to work with because they were actually not as thick. There are no pre-drilled holes so you first have to create the hole that passes through both the runner and into the sled. Each runner has a channel that runs through the center (think "U" shape when looking down the rail held longwise out in front of you like you would aim an arrow). This channel does seem to help the sled track a little better as it lacks friction through the channel and it handles surprisingly well on ice, snow and slush. You do sort of have to tug the front at a steep angle to get it to turn sharply because the tracks grip so well. Sharp turns are so infrequent (i.e. loading, pulling through tight trails etc.) so this is not an issue. The provided hardware has stainless nylon insert nuts and washers which prevent the bolts from backing out or rusting. They only stick up on the top side about 1/3 to 1/2" depending on the thickness of your sled but this also prevents you from sliding things easily as you are loading up your gear. Example is a tackle box that I store under one of the front seats of my shelter, I end up having to lift the front edge up because the nut acts as a stopping point against the container. This requires me to lift the container over the nut to push it the rest of the way forward. Not a big deal and certainly any other sled will not be different unless you happen to mount the rails against a protruding section on the bottom. In the case of the Eskimo sled, there are pre-molded channels that these rails sit it on the OUTSIDE which actually protrude INSIDE the sled. I'm giving the rails 5 stars because they are very helpful for pulling my well loaded sled and do provide plenty of protection to the very important sled portion of my ice fishing setup. 5I am a big fan of Eskimo and own many ...I am a big fan of Eskimo and own many products by them. This adapter is made to fit an auger I believe. I use it on my dewalt hammer drill. the reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it is not made so it could fit the chuck on my impact gun. I would much rather use that drill.4Quickest way to set an anchorMakes setting up the quickfish series of shelters very fast. Depending on snow depth no need to clear before drilling in. Without this tool there is no way we would have retrieved 2 of our iced in anchors. without it we would have been spending a great deal of time removing ice carefully around the anchors so as not to damage our hut. With this tool we were able to just attach and pull them instead. 5Must havePerfect for putting anchors down quickly. Especially on a windy day or extreme cold day. -30 on the first day i got to use this. Saved my hands and other body parts by being able to anchor my pop up so quickly. 5What a differenceWorks great on my Eskimo anchors, as much as I didn't want to carry more gear out onto the ice (the drill), it's worth it. Anchors go in quick and easy, about 5 seconds, versus what sometimes is 5 minutes by hand. It also can wind up your tip ups, can be used as a bottle opener, and the hex is the same size as the bolt on a power auger bit. 5Works exactly as expected! My Eskimo Ice Anchor Power Drill Adapter works exactly as expected! I would recommend without hesitation. I have had it out twice now and this is exactly what I've been looking for. (Last season I purchased a different brand of similar tool, which broke on me after only the second ice anchor in. The other brand was made from plastic and this one is made from steel.) This well made tool should last a lifetime of ice fishing. The only drawback with this tool, is a short learning curve to getting the ice anchors to sit in the tool properly. It took about 1 1/2 anchors in before I was comfortable with the tool. All you really need to remember in order for the anchors to seat in the tool properly, is to apply some down pressure. Once you get the feel for it, it's second nature. This tool worked well for my Cabela's (Clam) ice shelter ice anchors, and should fit just about any other brand of anchors out there.I tried the others, if you are looking for a tool to drive your ice anchors, this is the one to buy. 5ReviewThey look very sturdy but I would recommend getting the tool for the power drill to put them in 5poor quality control on one of my anchorsOne of the ice anchors came with an in unwelded washer. The washer on the other anchor is welded to the shank as it should be. Its necessary for the washer to be welded to the shank so it secures the shelter snuggly to the ice. The anchor with the loose washer lets the shelter floor whip in the wind and allows blowing wind and snow under the shelter. This whipping of the shelter bottom will inevitably lead to a torn base on my ice shelter. Going to try some JB Weld to secure the washer in place because its useless the way it is. 2
